to seven days some slightly longer nine days and of course there may be other rules or changes for whatever tradition it is that you practice follow those and also dependent upon the spirit and what is being offered so three to seven days is
the usual amount of time that you’re going to leave the offering [Music] for many spirits it doesn’t matter if the offering has spoiled before the seven days either way they want it there to sit there for seven days i’ve also had spirits keep
offerings for months and months and months one time anaisa kept a set of flowers for nine months and nine months later they looked like they had just been purchased it wasn’t until month 10 that they suddenly died like that another time i gave
oranges to the spirits and those oranges lasted almost two years and they were still juicy and like plump when i opened them up finally when they were told to me to open them up so those are little exceptions to the rule but generally
three to seven days and you can get rid of offerings in a number of ways and again that depends on the purpose of the offering and who you’re giving the offering to and the type of offering that’s being left but something that people
often ask me is like candle glasses the glass jars that you burn candles in as well as flowers flowers can be tossed and candle glasses and candle votive glasses those can be just left in the recycling i also don’t like to litter whenever
